Iowa Chapter
The Iowa I & R Center is located in Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Our medical director is Dr. Lynn K. Struck and coordinator is Sam Erwin.
The I & R Center provides educational materials, establishes and maintains support groups and offers free support for the state. A quarterly newsletter is mailed to over 1600 individuals, and other events are planned such as seminars, workshops and an annual conference.
Many individuals can share their feelings of how a diagnosis such as Parkinson's Disease (PD) impacted their lives. Others have to say in a story, others will show you a picture of their family but either way there is an impact.
This web site is supported by the Iowa Chapter of APDA and offers you links when searching for answers to questions, or explanations to symptoms. And it will give you support in the direction of support groups and events scheduled throughout the state, and updated information connected to PD. Also if you need to speak to someone one-to-one, we have a list of folks willing to do just that. We hope this web site will also give you a face of PD, their pictures and words.
